Mixed Media Life Drawing

Again I prepared some collaged printmaking paper. I used a French Grey Conte pencil for much of these. The sheet with two figures on it is smaller, A4 size, and I used a black Artline pen which, amazingly, did not seem to mind being used upside down. I was using an easel.

Hi Sandra,
your work is very interesting and beautiful. I like your use of old books and newspapers in your collage.

Thank you for the comments Denise and Benedicte.
I don't use newspapers actually...the text is from old books, I search for books 100+ years old in old book sales that I can pull apart for these...I figure if they lasted that long they should be able to last a few years more!

So Artline pens really *are* worth stealing huh? (no I'm not a pen thief, I hope you know the adverts I'm referring to!)
The top one in particular is great; I think the perspective appeals to me.

These are really interesting - I love the combination of the text with your drawings. Do you work directly with a model on prepared sheets or do these from sketches later?

I really love the way you do these. Do you prepare the pages before going to life drawing sessions? I

Casey, I prep the paper beforehand, sometimes only a couple of hours or so before. Collage papers onto good quality paper, rub and brush paint over and leave it to dry. I do several at a time. I've learned to take care with dark papers, would need planning of a pose to make that work.
